It's raining, and it has been raining, and it is supposed to keep raining!!!!
The playground is muddy, and now so are the halls!!!!
Our noses are snuffy and our eyes are itching!!!!!
Are we sure we really want it to be spring??????

FALL

The leaves are changing colors, and it is already the end of the second six weeks of school. We've celebrated many successes and are saddened by our losses. Staff and students - all- are affected by what happened at Ft. Hood this past week. We are all thankful as a school family for the recovery of Patrick Zeigler Jr. whose sister is a student at Miller Grove. Our thoughts and prayers are with their family as well as the others involved in this tragedy. We may never know why, but in concert with a soldier I saw interviewed, "This will only make us stronger and more determined to accomplish our goal and move forward." Any thoughts?

Traveling

How many of you have ever traveled very far from home? Well as most of you know, I got the chance to travel 3000 miles away to take Bri to Washington state. It was an amazing experience to see deserts, mountains, valleys, the tallest and biggest trees in the world, and the ocean. It was a bitter sweet trip for me, but I'm so thankful I went. If you could go anywhere - where would that be and why would you want to go there?

Too busy???

This time of year is very busy. TAKS testing is here in full force. I just don't want any of us to get too busy to remember to show each other how much we appreciate them and how much we care!!! What are your thoughts on that?

You think it's spring?

Didn't the groundhog see his shadow? Doesn't that mean there are at least six more weeks of winter? I think it's spring, but this is Texas after all, so who really knows??? Enjoy it while we can. I walked out on the office porch today, and there you were - dodging puddles and having a great time on the playground. We all learn lots of important lessons on the playground as well as in the classroom. What are some lessons you've learned on the playground lately?

Educators - have the most important job in the world! You've heard it said it before, "Everyone had a teacher." I am so thankful for the educators here at Miller Grove. You are dedicated and compassionate. You have high expectations for all your students, and you persevere with them - you don't give up on them or wash your hands of them. You are professional yet personal, knowing that relationships really matter. Day after day, you prepare and plan and pursue excellence for your students. May you be blessed for sharing your gift with us.

Learning - how to get along, how to multiply, how to read.... those are just a few of the things that go on every day at Miller Grove Elementary School. Without the students and our staff, where would we be? It takes all of us - doing our part. But the community is also a big part of our school. Thanks to all of you who came out on Friday night and supported our school in our Carnival and a big thanks to PTO for all your work.
